7 Hurricane wrestlers accompanied Coach Bass and Coach Mitchell to Hofstra University yesterday to participate in a wrestling clinic (see flyer below). This was no ordinary clinic. In addition to members of the Hofstra wrestling team, also on hand was Ohio State Head Wrestling Coach Tom Ryan, 2-time National Coach of the Year, and Kyle Snyder. Kyle is a senior at Ohio State University, a 2-time NCAA Champion, World Freestyle Champion, and an Olympic Champion. At age 21, Kyle is the youngest wrestler to become a World Champion in US history. He is also the youngest wrestler to ever win the NCAA, World, and Olympic Championships in the same year. It was a very special day for all who attended and some inspirational words that Kyle wrote on a team poster will be framed and put up in the wrestling room.
