Members of the Westhampton Beach Wrestling Family participated in the Race for a Reason 5k at Cupsogue Beach on 10/5/2014. The race raised funds for two charities. One, Blessings in a Backpack, was founded by former Hurricane wrestler Aiden Kravitz who graduated with the Class of 2014 earlier this year. Congratulations to all who participated!

Westhampton Beach competed at the Section Xi, League VI Championships this past weekend. The Hurricanes advanced 6 wrestlers to the County Championships to be held 2/14 & 2/16/2014 at Hofstra University. Here are the results, and best of luck to all of our wrestlers!!!

After a snow day yesterday and a delayed opening today, the team hopes to utilize the remainder of the week to prepare. The Hurricanes of Westhampton Beach finished with a 4-3 League VI Dual Meet record this year and a 13-13 Dual record overall. A highlight for the team was winning the Commack Duals on January 10, 2014. The top performers to watch in the post season are returning All-League wrestlers Jake Martin (1st) 195/220lbs; Kyle Maddock (3rd) 126lbs;Ryan Osborne (3rd) 145lbs. Hunter Hulse 138lbs was a D2 champion for Stony Brook. Other wrestlers who have accumulated over 20 wins this year include: Esteban Garcia 120lbs; Aiden Kravitz 170lbs; Chris Chomicki 195lbs. Westhampton Beach traveled to Patchogue/Medford High SChool on 1/31/2014 for a non-league tuneup for the upcoming league duals. The Hurricanes ended up on the short end of a 55-18 decision.
Westhampton Beach hosted Miller place on Senior night. The match was back and forth all the way. In the end however, the Panthers took the last match and the win in a 33-30 decision.
Westhampton Beach, aided by numerous forfeits, easily downed Amityville by a score of 61-20. The match was held on 1/23/2014 after being rescheduled due to a snowstorm.
