The Canes hosted the annual Cory Hubbard Duals at Westhampton Beach High School last Saturday (1/7). The arriving snow storm nearly canceleed the entire event, but after some discussions it was decided to host an abbreviated tournament beginning one hour early at 8am. The Canes came out to wrestle and dispatched Hampton Bays 66-15, Valley Stream North 72-18, and finally Newfield 54-23 in what was expected to be a much closer match. The finals round could not held due to the time constraints and the tournament concluded at 12pm. The Hurricane JV team got some good mat time as they filled the eighth spot in the tournament after Holy Trinity (Nassau) was forced to cancel at the last minute due to the weather. The Canes will host Amityville in a League VI matchon Wednesday also at home!
